Landgroup Configuration

A Land Group is a collection of parcels. Each setting in the Landgroup configuration screen is applied to all parcels that are placed in the landgroup.

From the Land Groups summary page, you can click the [pencil icon] to edit an already existing land group, or click the Add New Landgroup button to create additional Landgroups.

The Landgroup configuration dialog mimics the official Linden Lab viewer with some additional time saving options.

The Land Group settings are split into 4 tabs, General, Options, Media, and Access just like the official viewer. Below are details on every specific option:

General Tab

Parcel Name: This string represents the parcel name, It can contain expandable macros for added customization

Parcel Description: This string represents the parcel description, It may contain expandable macros for added customization

Price Model: Currently only ‘Fixed Price’ is available, this will set a parcel’s price based on L$/sq.m X Parcel Size. Future options will include dynamic pricing which will allow you to use time based parcel repricing (reverse Dutch auctions).

L$/sq.m: This is the price per sq.m to price this parcel at. For example if you set 10.0 here, parcels will be priced at 10.0 X parcel size. You can use up to 5 decimal places to get exact pricing set.

Sell To: Options include Do Not Sell (default), Anyone, or Specific User.

  • Do Not Sell: The parcel can be configured, but will not be marked for sale.
  • Anyone: Parcel will be marked for sale to anyone using the Price Model selected above.
  • Specific User: Parcel will be marked for sale to a specific avatar using the Price Model selected above. If this option is selected the Specific User box must be filled in with the UUID of the avatar. [note: in the future you will be able to do direct lookups, if you need assistance finding the UUID of an avatar contact Yohan Pintens for assistance]

Sell Objects: If checked, any objects deeded to group will be sold with the parcel. This is required to be checked for the Landmachine SalesTracker system to work. Objects which are set to group or shared with group will not be transferred to the new owner.

Autoreturn: Number of minutes before non-group set objects will be returned. It is recommended this be set unless non group object creation is disabled (see below)

Clear Parcel: If set, parcel will be cleared of all objects during initial setup, and subsequent changes. It is recommended you enable this option unless you intend to manually place objects on the parcel after setup is ran.

Inventory Scene: This is the pre-configured scene to place on the parcel during setup. If you have do not have the ‘Clear Parcel’ setting enabled, the system will place duplicates anytime a change is made to the landgroup, or anytime a parcel is moved between landgroups. see also Scene Manager Documentation

Track Sales: This option enables parcels setup in this group to be tracked in the SalesTracker by deploying and deeding the SalesTracker object on each parcel during parcel setup.

Options Tab

Edit Terrain: If checked, will allow anyone to terraform the parcel.

Create Landmarks: Allow anyone to create landmarks which make revisiting the parcel for potential buyers easier.

Fly: Enable Avatars to Fly. This does not prevent flight over parcels or stop a flying avatar that teleports, it only prevents avatars from initiating flight if they are standing on the parcel.

Safe (no damage): Prevents physical objects, e.g. bullets from causing damage to avatars that are on parcels.

Show in Search & In Category: If set, will show parcel in search. Note: Linden Lab will charge L$30/week for each parcel in this landgroup! You can also set which specific category parcels in this landgroup will be displayed in.

Mature Content: If set, will (eventually) deny access to non age verified avatars from entering the parcels in this landgroup.

  • Create Objects: Allows Avatars to create objects while on parcels assigned to this landgroup.

Landing Point: There are three options Leave As-Is is the default setting. This defines where avatars will land if Teleporting in from another location on the grid.

  • Leave As-Is: Uses already set landing point.
  • Clear Setting: Clears existing landing point.
  • Set Mid-Parcel: sets the landing point to the middle of the bounding box of the parcel.

Teleport Routing: (these settings are not currently used, ‘Anywhere’ is always set.
